Abstract

  • In July 2021, Tanjungpandan City experienced inflation of 0.22 percent with a CPI of 109.02. Of the 90 CPI cities, 61 cities experienced inflation and 29 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Sorong at 1.51 percent with a CPI of 108.33 and the lowest occurred in Sampit at 0.01 percent with a CPI of 107.10. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Manokwari of 0.60 percent with a CPI of 109.89 and the lowest occurred in Maumere and Samarinda of 0.01 percent with a CPI of 106.65 and 105.69, respectively.
  • Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in some indexes of expenditure groups, namely: food, beverages, and tobacco by 0.23 percent; household equipment, equipment, and routine maintenance group by 0.36 percent; health group by 0.65 percent; transportation group by 1.03 percent; education group by 0.15 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 0.04 percent. Some other expenditure groups experienced deflation, namely: the information, communication and financial services group by 0.03 percent and the recreation, sports and culture group by 0.6 percent. Food and beverage/restaurant supply group; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups; and clothing and footwear groups did not change.
  • The calendar year inflation rate is 2.23 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (July 2021 to July 2020) is 3.71 percent.
  • The energy group in July 2021 experienced deflation of 0.12 percent with a CPI of 100.59. Meanwhile, the food ingredients component in July 2021 experienced inflation of 0.25 percent with a CPI of 114.38.
