Abstract

  • In June 2021 Tanjungpandan City experienced inflation of 0.36 percent with a CPI of 108.78. Of the 90 CPI cities, 34 cities experienced inflation and 56 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Singkawang at 1.36 percent with a CPI of 105.50 and the lowest occurred in Pekanbaru and Tanjung Selor at 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Kupang at 0.89 percent with a CPI of 104.88 and the lowest occurred in Palembang at 0.01 percent with a CPI of 105.49.
  • Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in some indexes of the expenditure group, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 1.59 percent; household equipment, equipment, and routine maintenance group by 0.37 percent; health group by 0.10 percent; food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 0.11 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 1.24 percent. Some other expenditure groups experienced deflation, namely: housing, water, electricity, and household fuel by 0.60 percent; transportation group by 1.86 percent; and the information, communication, and financial services group by 0.41 percent. Clothing and footwear group; recreation, sports, and cultural groups; and the education group did not change.
  • The calendar year inflation rate is 2.01 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (June 2021 versus June 2020) is 3.75 percent.
  • The energy group in June 2021 experienced a deflation of 1.05 percent with a CPI of 100.71. Meanwhile, the food component in June 2021 will experience inflation by 2.05 percent with a CPI of 114.09
