January 2023 Tanjungpandan City Year on Year (y-on-y) inflation of 5.38 percent

Abstract

In January 2023 there was Year on Year (y-on-y) inflation of 5.38 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 117.52. The highest y-on-y inflation occurred in Kotabaru at 7.78 percent with a CPI of 119.97 and the lowest occurred in Sorong at 3.23 percent with a CPI of 112.02.
Year on Year (y-on-y) inflation occurred due to an increase in most of the expenditure group indices, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 3.16 percent; the clothing and footwear group by 1.32 percent; the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 3.16 percent; equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance group of 1.61 percent; the health group by 1.83 percent; transportation group of 19.83 percent; the recreation, sports and culture group by 4.03 percent; education group by 4.78 percent; the group providing food and drink/restaurants by 10.97 percent; as well as the personal care and other services group of 5.45 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure group that experienced a decrease in index was the information, communication and financial services group by 0.80 percent.
The January 2023 Month to Month (m-to-m) and Year to Date (y-to-d) inflation rate was 1.71 percent.
The y-on-y inflation rate for the Energy Component was 11.41 percent with a m-to-m deflation rate of 0.11 percent. Inflation y-on-y in the Foodstuffs Component was 0.49 percent with m-to-m inflation of 5.75 percent.
