January 2023 Pangkalpinang City Year on Year (y-on-y) inflation of 4.68 percent

Abstract

In January 2023 there was Year on Year (y-on-y) inflation of 4.68 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 113.55. The highest y-on-y inflation occurred in Kotabaru at 7.78 percent with a CPI of 119.97 and the lowest occurred in Sorong at 3.23 percent with a CPI of 112.02.

Year on Year (y-on-y) inflation occurred due to price increases as indicated by an increase in the index in 10 expenditure groups, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 2.77 percent; the clothing and footwear group by 1.41 percent; the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 5.20 percent; equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance group of 2.97 percent; the health group by 0.97 percent; transportation group by 13.17 percent; the recreation, sports and culture group by 2.28 percent; the education group by 0.04 percent; the group providing food and drink/restaurants by 4.21 percent; and the personal care and other services group of 8.63 percent. In contrast, the information, communication and financial services group experienced a deflation of 0.09 percent.

The month to month (m-to-m) and year to date (y-to-d) deflation rates for January 2023 are 0.10 percent.

The y-on-y inflation rate for the Energy Component was 15.69 percent with a m-to-m deflation rate of 0.24 percent. Inflation y-on-y in the Foodstuffs Component was 0.58 percent with m-to-m inflation of 0.69 percent.
