The HDI figure is formed by three basic dimensions, namely long life and a healthy life which is described by Life Expectancy at birth (UHH), knowledge which is measured through the Average Years of Schooling (RLS) and Expected Years of Schooling (HLS) indicators, as well as living standards feasible as described by adjusted per capita expenditure.

In 2023, Pangkalpinang City's HDI will reach 80.45, or an increase of 0.68 points compared to the previous year. With this HDI level, Pangkalpinang City is in the "high" category in terms of human development.
