Abstract

In March 2024, year on year (y-on-y) inflation in Pangkal Pinang City will be 2.24 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 104.46.

Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the index in almost all expenditure groups, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 6.63 percent; clothing and footwear group at 0.21 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.18 percent; health group at 8.94 percent; transportation group by 0.18 percent; information, communication and financial services group at 0.20 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 2.13 percent; education group at 0.59 percent; and the food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 0.29 percent. On the other hand, the groups that experienced y-on-y deflation or a decline in the index were the supplies, equipment and routine household maintenance group at 0.96 percent and the personal care and other services group at 1.31 percent.

The inflation rate for March 2024 month to month (m-to-m) was 0.04 percent and the inflation rate for March 2024 year to date (y-to-d) was 0.40 percent
