Abstract

January 2024 Year on Year (y-on-y) inflation for the Pangkal Pinang Municipality is 1.89 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 104.07

Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the index in almost all expenditure groups, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 4.47 percent; clothing and footwear group at 0.44 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.22 percent; health group at 9.27 percent; transportation group by 1.83 percent; information, communication and financial services group at 0.18 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 2.13 percent; education group at 0.59 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 0.48 percent. On the other hand, the group that experienced y-on-y deflation or a decrease in the index, namely the supplies, equipment and routine household maintenance group experienced deflation of 0.75 percent and the personal care and other services group of 0.90 percent.

The month to month (m-to-m) inflation rate and year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate for Pangkal Pinang City for January 2024 are each 0.03 percent.
