The Gini Ratio in March 2022 was recorded at 0.236

Abstract

  • In March 2022, the level of inequality in the expenditure of the population of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province as measured by the Gini Ratio was 0.236. This figure decreased by 0.011 points compared to the September 2021 Gini Ratio of 0.247 and decreased by 0.020 points compared to the March 2021 Gini Ratio of 0.256.
  • The Gini Ratio in urban areas in March 2022 was recorded at 0.248, down from the Gini Ratio in September 2021 which was 0.259 and the Gini Ratio in March 2021 which was 0.265.
  • The Gini Ratio in rural areas in March 2022 was recorded at 0.206, down from the Gini Ratio in September 2021 which was 0.215 and the Gini Ratio in March 2021 which was 0.221.
  • Based on the World Bank's measure of inequality, the distribution of spending in the bottom 40 percent is 25.59 percent. This means that population spending in March 2022 is in the category of low inequality. Likewise, if broken down by region, urban and rural areas are both classified in the low inequality category with the amount for urban areas is 24.91 and rural areas is 27.18.
