Abstract

  • In December 2021 Tanjungpandan City experienced inflation of 1.14 percent with a CPI of 110.92. Of the 90 CPI cities, 88 cities experienced inflation and 2 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Jayapura at 1.91 percent with a CPI of 105.87 and the lowest occurred in Pekanbaru at 0.07 percent with a CPI of 106.53. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Dumai at 0.13 percent with a CPI of 107.70 and the lowest occurred in Bukittinggi at 0.04 percent with a CPI of 106.59.
  • Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in some indexes of the expenditure group, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 2.46 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups by 0.86 percent; health group by 0.20 percent; transportation group by 0.46 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 0.37 percent. Meanwhile, expenditure groups that experienced deflation were: equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance groups of 0.03 percent; and the information, communication, and financial services group by 0.32 percent. Clothing and footwear group; recreation, sports, and cultural groups; food and beverage/restaurant supply group; and the education group did not change.
  • The inflation rate for the calendar year (January–December) 2021 and the year-on-year inflation rate (December 2021 against December 2020) is 4.01 percent.
  • The energy group in December 2021 experienced inflation of 1.29 with CPI was 102.55. Meanwhile, the components of foodstuffs in December 2021 will experience inflation of 3.13 percent with a CPI of 118.39.
