Abstract

  • Pangkalpinang City, in June 2021 inflation was 0.23 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 104.97. Of the 90 CPI cities, 34 cities experienced inflation and 56 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Singkawang at 1.36 percent with a CPI of 105.50 and the lowest in Pekanbaru and Tanjung Selor at 0.01 percent with a CPI of 105.28 and 103.92, respectively. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Kupang at 0.89 percent with a CPI of 104.88 and the lowest was in Palembang at 0.01 percent with a CPI of 105.49.
  • Inflation was caused by an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the index in several expenditure groups, namely: food, beverages and tobacco by 0.91 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.10 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel groups by 0.11 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.18 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 0.81 percent. Deflation only occurred in the health group by 0.22 percent and in the transportation group by 0.95 percent. Meanwhile the information, communication and financial services group; recreation, sports and cultural groups; education group; and the food and beverage/restaurant supply group is stable or does not experience changes in the index.
  • The largest share of inflation was contributed by the commodities of kale, selar fish, and spinach.
  • The calendar year June 2021 experienced inflation of 1.48 percent and year on year (June 2021 against June 2020) also inflation of 1.87 percent.
  • The energy component in June 2021 did not change the index with a CPI of 101.08. Meanwhile, the food component inflation was 0.96 percent with a CPI of 108.79
