The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Pangkal Pinang City has again released inflation data at the beginning of October. The Head of BPS Pangkal Pinang City, Dewi Savitri explained the concept/definition and presented various notes on events before explaining the figures to be released.
In general, price developments in Pangkal Pinang City in September 2024 rose by 0.16 percent compared to the previous month. The main contributors to inflation this month were Air Transportation by 0.13 points; Machine-made Clove Cigarettes 0.06 points, and Shampoo 0.05 points. On the other hand, there were also commodities that experienced a decrease in price such as cayenne pepper with a deflation contribution of 0.09 points; red chili 0.08 points; and kale 0.04 points.
On an annual basis (y-on-y), inflation eroded to 0.82% (y-on-y) compared to the price in September the previous year. This figure is the lowest throughout 2024, even though the price increase (y-on-y) is shown by almost all expenditure groups, the index has increased.
In this release, the Acting Mayor of Pangkal Pinang, Budi Utama, was present and explained the results of monitoring field conditions and various work programs that have been carried out. Also present were the Head of the Pangkal Pinang City Communication and Information Service, the Head of the Pangkal Pinang City Food and Agriculture Service, and other related OPDs. During the discussion, the Head of the Pangkal Pinang City Food and Agriculture Service, Samri, gave a response regarding food crops and the question of the contribution of shampoo to inflation. The Bapperida representative also responded to the sources of inflation this month.
