Poor Population is a population that has an average per capita expenditure per month below the poverty line.

Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) has released poverty data for March 2024. The percentage of poor people in Pangkalpinang City in 2024 was 4.04 percent, or 8.87 thousand people in Pangkalpinang City who had an average per capita expenditure per month below the poverty line.

In 2024, there was a decrease in the poor population compared to the previous year. Interestingly, over the past 5 years, the percentage of poor people in Pangkalpinang City has always been below 5 percent. While nationally, the percentage of poor people is still in the range of 9-10 percent.
