The working age population is the population aged 15 years and over. The population aged 15 years and over is divided into two groups, the first is the working force and the second is the non-working force. The labor force is the population who work and look for work. Residents looking for work are called unemployed.
Meanwhile, those who are still in school, retired, housewives, and not looking for work, are not included in the labor force
The Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) is the comparison between the labor force and the total working age population. Low TPAK figures indicate the small number of job opportunities available for the working age population.
Every year the Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) carries out the National Labor Force Survey to obtain employment data.
In 2023, the Pangkal Pinang City Labor Force Participation Rate was recorded at 66.55% and the Open Unemployment Rate was 5.76%.
