Gini Ratio in September 2024 was recorded at 0.235

Abstract

In September 2024, the level of inequality in expenditure of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province population as measured by the Gini Ratio was 0.235. This figure decreased by 0.009 points compared to the March 2024 Gini Ratio of 0.244 and also decreased by 0.010 points compared to the March 2023 Gini Ratio of 0.245.

The Gini Ratio in urban areas in September 2024 was recorded at 0.251, decreased by 0.012 points compared to the March 2024 urban Gini Ratio of 0.263 and also decreased by 0.014 points compared to the March 2023 Gini Ratio of 0.265.

The Gini Ratio in rural areas in September 2024 was recorded at 0.189, down 0.007 points compared to the rural Gini Ratio in March 2024 of 0.196 and also down 0.013 points compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2023 of 0.202.

Based on the World Bank's inequality measure, the distribution of expenditure in the bottom 40 percent group in September 2024 was 25.77 percent. This means that population expenditure in September 2024 was in the low inequality category. If broken down by regional classification, the distribution of expenditure in the bottom 40 percent group in urban areas in March 2024 was recorded at 24.92 percent, which means it is included in the low inequality category. Meanwhile, for rural areas, the figure was recorded at 27.83 percent, which means it is also included in the low inequality category.
