Abstract

  • The total workforce in August 2022 was 767,603 people, an increase of 28,986 people compared to August 2021. The Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) increased by 1.50 percentage points.
  • The working population is 730,972 people, an increase of 29,531 people from August 2021. Employment fields that experienced the largest percentage increase were the Mining and Quarrying Sector (3.38 percentage points).
  • Meanwhile, the jobs that experienced the biggest decline were the Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries (1.66 percentage points). A total of 362,786 people (49.63 percent) worked in informal activities, down 1.30 percentage points compared to August 2021.
  • The percentage of underemployed and part-time workers decreased by 2.69 percentage points and 2.22 percentage points respectively compared to August 2021.
  • The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in August 2022 was 4.77 percent, down by 0.26 percentage points compared to August 2021.
  • There are 6,056 people (0.53 percent of the working age population) affected by COVID-19. Consisting of unemployment due to COVID-19 (369 people), Non-Work Force (BAK) due to COVID-19 (1,486 people), temporarily not working due to COVID-19 (286 people), and working residents who experienced a reduction in working hours due to COVID-19 19 (3,915 people).
