Abstract

  • In February 2022, Tanjungpandan City experienced a deflation of 2.08 percent with a CPI of 109.20. Of the 90 CPI cities, 37 cities experienced inflation and 53 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Kupang at 0.65 percent with a CPI of 107.17 and the lowest occurred in Tanjung Selor at 0.01 percent with a CPI of 106.29. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Tanjungpandan of 2.08 percent with a CPI of 109.20 and the lowest occurred in Palembang, Palangka Raya, and Tarakan of 0.01 percent with a CPI of 107.54, 108.50, and 108, respectively. ,41.
  • Deflation occurred due to a decrease in prices as indicated by a decrease in some indexes of expenditure groups, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 5.82 percent and the housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups by 0.04 percent. Meanwhile, expenditure groups that experienced inflation were: clothing and footwear by 0.03 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.69 percent; transportation group by 0.44 percent; information, communication, and financial services group by 0.10 percent; recreation, sports, and culture groups by 1.21 percent; food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 0.69 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 0.04 percent. The health group and the education group did not change.
  • The deflation rate for the calendar year February 2022 was 1.55 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (February 2022 against February 2021) was 1.07 percent.
  • The energy group in February 2022 experienced a deflation of 0.21 with a CPI of 103.12. Meanwhile, the food ingredients component in February 2022 experienced a deflation of 7.86 percent with a CPI of 110.02.
